This solo unfolds in three chapters, each shorter and more distilled than the last, the same story through a starkly alternative lens. Sampling in Hip Hop as the core element. An existing piece to make a new. Perhaps to honour what came before and to progress while looking ahead. But mostly applicable to right now which is to: sample it, loop it, and find a way to flip it. It’s fun and it is action. It’s how we approach Street Dance as movers. Take action.

À la recherche d’instants qui ont marqué le cours d’une vie. Le corps tente de revivre et ressentir ce qui fut pour un temps agréable ou brutalement intense. Prise entre la disponibilité indispensable au mouvement et le désir de faire ressurgir ce qui fait maintenant partie de soi. Slaughterhouse/Requiem Slaughterhouse/Requiem explore la proposition passionnante et effrayante, rassurante et impressionnante, fondatrice et troublante, selon laquelle « chaque jour est un cadeau ». Ce solo se déploie en trois chapitres, chacun plus court et plus distillé que le précédent : c’est la même histoire vue sous des perspectives radicalement différentes. Speakeasy loop it L’échantillonnage dans le hip-hop comme élément de base. Une pièce existante pour en créer une nouvelle. Peut-être pour honorer ce qui existait avant et pour progresser tout en regardant vers l’avenir. Mais ce qui importe à l’heure actuelle, c’est surtout de l’échantillonner, de la faire jouer en boucle et de la renouveler. C’est une action ludique. Nous abordons Street Dance pour jouer un rôle. Pour passer à l’action.
