For the first time since her Dora Award winning performance of Kittly-Bender Jennifer Dallas has created a new solo work for premier with Ottawa Dance Directive. In Love’s Tenacity the world Dallas has created coalesces around voice, costume, and sound to nest the soloist in the center of the drama. A paean to instinctual love, the work exhales hopefulness in the face of the seemingly hopeless search for simplicity and beauty in a very complex, shared reality. Shot in the Ottawa valley this screen version of Love’s Tenacity showcases Jennifer’s maverick sense of play using the dynamic abilities of a dancer and the profound emotional worlds of clown and Butoh.
