This 3-session workshop will introduce participants to the fundaments of cinematography through hands-on camera and lighting exercises.
In this Cinematography workshop participants will be introduced to the fundaments of cinematography and the art of conveying meaning and emotions through the visual component of cinema. Through camera and lighting exercises students will gain a stronger understanding of the role of a Cinematographer. Participants will be introduced to the following areas of cinematography, composition, camera movement, lenses, camera filters, colour, exposure, depth of field, Sony’s s-log, and lighting and grip essentials. The instructor will also screen and discuss examples of their work as a local cinematographer.
This is an in-person workshop offered at the DARC Soundstage (65 University Private, Ottawa). To participate in this workshop, all participants must be fully vaccinated and wear a mask while on site at DARC.
