hard wire follows two scientists through a psychological journey and an embodied study of rocks and permanency. Their archeological dig leads to a deeper reflection on life in the face of a climate in crisis. Felt through the lens of two millennial-ish women, they fight to reconcile with humanity’s inaction and deflection in determining how, and if we move forward.

hard wire was written by Emma Kerson and Jane-Alison McKinney, with excerpts and references from Stone: An Ecology of the Inhuman by J. J. Cohen and from Thelma and Louise. Together, Emma Kerson and Jane-Alison McKinney seek to create multifaceted, piercingly visceral performance works. They founded Bare Nerve in 2019 as the formalization of their long-term artistic relationship and as a means to integrate their core creative values.

hard wire suit le parcours psychologique de deux scientifiques au cours d’une étude concrète consacrée aux roches et à la pérennité. Leurs fouilles archéologiques mènent à une réflexion approfondie sur la vie face à un climat en crise. À travers leur prisme de la génération Y, les deux scientifiques tentent par tous les moyens de se réconcilier avec l’inaction et l’évasion de l’humanité devant cette crise. Elles essaient aussi de déterminer comment — et si — nous irons de l’avant.
