Join us Friday, November 3rd for an open mic in the Arts Court Atelier Studio, with featuring local spoken word artist and musician Nathanael Larochette, and spotlight performer Arson McTaggart!

Doors open at 7:00pm EST, show starts at 7:30 SHARP!

This event is Pay What You Can, with a suggested donation of $10. Our capacity is limited - separate tickets must be bought for every attendee so we know how many people to expect. Nathanael Larochette is an Ottawa based guitarist, composer, spoken word poet and arts educator. He represented Ottawa at the 2007, 2008, 2012, 2013 Canadian Festival of Spoken Word and the 2013, 2014 Canadian Individual Poetry Slam Championships, he directed the 2010 Canadian Festival of Spoken Word and has been facilitating creative writing and performance workshops for over 16 years. He is an accomplished solo artist as well as a founding member, composer and guitarist with the instrumental chamber folk trio Musk Ox, the instrumental progressive metal band The Night Watch, and the instrumental groove trio Archivers. He has released ten albums, most recently the solo acoustic LP/guitar book Old Growth (2023) and has performed in twelve countries. Nathanael lives to create hope and dream because he believes these are the keys to the meaning of our being.

Arson specialises in poetry and fantastical fiction novels. She has been writing since she was younger than ten, and has since been published twice in newspapers, created their own chapbook and performed in multiple coffeehouses. She attends Canterbury High School in grade 12 for Literary Arts. You can find her at arson_is_burning on instagram.
